Blogging Everyday in June - Day 15: How I Got Into Crafting & Pink

It is Day 15 and it's also Father's Day today. *Hey Dad!* and on this slightly cloudy day in London the blog / craft prompts for today are:

Day 15: Tell us how you got into Crafting or Create something that is pink.

I'm aiming for a double post today, so let's start off with the first bit - How I got into Crafting...
I got into crafting when I was about 17 years old. I was studying at College and it was my friend Adam's birthday, I made him a card and he liked it. So from then on I made cards for friends, and family members and it escalated from there really. I love the looks on friends faces when they get a handmade card from me - it is for me the most rewarding thing about making cards or gifts making people smile. It makes me very happy.

And for the other half of the post, here is my craft something in Pink:

I made this flower as a prototype for an idea for a friend's wedding next year. That seems like a long way off, but we were testing out ideas and she liked the idea of a big flower for the bridesmaids or even the bride to hold instead of a bouquet. This giant flower is made of pink / magenta tissue paper, but the real one (after we've done some other material testing!) will probably be made out of crepe paper, as its a little more sturdy and falls into shape a lot more better. The tutorial is available online through Pinterest.

Hope you guys liked this double post and Happy Sunday!
