Blogging Everyday in June - Day 28: A Day in the Crafting Life

It's Day 28. The weather in London is awful. Raining and I'm off to what is now going to be an indoor BBQ!!! But anywho, here's Day 28...

Day 28: A Day in your Crafting Life

On the days I do craft, they tend to be in the evenings as during the day I don't feel in the crafting mindset. And I find crafting at night time more relaxing. I know, strange right?

If I need to make a card (these are normally birthdays) I'll start at about 7pm or 8pm, I'll get the card stock I need, including the base cards I need then select a few paper pads (6 x 6 normally but I'll have a look at the 12 x 12 if I'm feeling something different) I'll lay everything out on bed, then I'll grab the tools I need out of the own pots - scissors, double sides tape, Sellotape, foam dots, ruler, pencil, Promarkers (if I need to use them) stamps and ink pads & blocks, corner rounder, my A5 trimmer and a mini scoring board.

I'll cut up the card stock to make my card bases then figure out what colours from the pads the recipient will like. I'll stamp out a few birthday sentiments to match the colour of the paper or if I feel the need to emboss I'll do that as well (so the versamark, embossing powder and heat gun will come out later) I'll stamp a few patterns and wing the design out. Add a few embellishments and extra paper and then see if the card looks good to me and if a balance of colours and detail is there as well. If I need to add anything I will, if I don't feel the need then I'll leave the design as it.

I'll hand make the envelope with my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board and then I'll write in the card a few hours before I give this to the recipient.

I normally finish crafting between 11pm - 1am depending on if I'm watching TV in the background or if I have a dozen cards to make.

So that is a day (or evening) in my Crafting life!

Day 29 tomorrow. Only a few days left of the challenge!
